Mint Airways began operations as an EASA company in June 2009, based in Madrid, with a Boeing 757-200ER aircraft with capacity for 232 passengers in Economy Class. At the end of June 2010 the company has added a second aircraft to its fleet also a B757-200ER with capacity for 229 passengers. Maintenance of aircraft is in charge of Iberia Airlines of Spain, in an effort to give the company greater technical guarantees and support to Flight Safety. The company has recently initiated actions to obtain IOSA certification.
From the beginning the company focused its business to combine charter flights from Spain to Egypt and Jordan, with Wet Lease contracts for other airlines. In fact, Mint Airways has recently obtained authorization to operate regular flights from Madrid to Luxor and Cairo, as well as Aswan and Cairo.
The company has specialized in Wet Lease operations both short and long term, for which it brings advantages like an extraordinary agility, full flexibility and an extremely competitive cost base, everything combined with operational and management staff highly qualified and experienced.
